The Lady Islanders 12U team traveled to Rhode Island on October 12-14th 2019 to participate in the RI Sting Columbus Day Tournament.  Their first game was Saturday against the North Shore Vipers U12-2 team at Portsmouth Abbey School which they won 6-2.  On Sunday they played the CT Northern Lights at West Warwick Civic Arena.  The CT Northern Lights gave a strong performance against the Lady Islanders but the team won 3-2.  After a team lunch, the Lady Islanders headed back to the same arena to face off against the Charles River Blazers U12 Blue team which they won 8-1.

As the team headed into Monday's playoff round, they were seeded 1st in pool B.  The team headed to Smithfield Arena to play the Islanders.  In a fast tempo game they won 4-2 and headed into the Championship round to face the Mid Fairfield Stars U12-2 team who won pool A.

The Mid Fairfield Stars team played a strong game against the Lady Islanders 12U.  With a shorter bench they put up a great effort but the Lady Islanders 12U won the game 2-1.

Congratulations to the 12U players on their first tournament win of the season.  Thank you to Coach Alyssa Marro and Coach Melissa Hauptmann for their efforts on the bench during the tournament.
